MUSICIAN Fish F Ndaramu has released a heartfelt song accompanied by visuals and explores the struggles behind the image people see.
Umkhonto was written by Utloanang Valera, performed by Fish F Ndaramu and produced by Siq Beats. The track was recorded and mastered at Nguniway Recording Co. while the visuals were shot and edited by Arnold Nyamande. Nyamande and Valela are behind the visuals story with Demi’d managing the wardrobe while logistics and transport manager was Nelisiwe Moyo.
Fish F Ndaramu said the track is a true story and speaks about perseverance, unseen battles and the journey of building a name for yourself.
“At its heart is a simple truth: your clothes, your appearance and the image you carry don’t always reveal how you truly feel. The song confronts the pain of being overlooked by those whose support you hoped for, only to be recognised by them once others begin to appreciate your work.
“It is a hustler’s prayer to keep going, offering a personal story that resonates with anyone
working towards a dream while carrying battles the world cannot see,” said Fish F Ndaramu.
He said the release marks a personal chapter after a difficult period that slowed his musical output.
“Umkhonto channels that experience into an honest reflection on ambition, belonging and the strength it takes to continue. As the founder of Nguniway Recording Co. and a member of Nguni Gang, l bring my language, identity and lived experiences into my work,” said Fish F Ndaramu.
