FitKhosie Fitness Hub is organizing its second Breast Cancer Awareness Expo this Saturday at Bulawayo Chief’s Village to raise awareness and educate the community about breast cancer.
The event will be running under the theme, “No one should face breast cancer alone, Close the care gap.”
Mthabisi Mlotshwa, the founder of FitKhosie Fitness Hub whose mother passed away from breast cancer in October 2012 shared the importance of this expo.
“Our goal is to educate and challenge everyone to join the fight against breast cancer,” he said.
“No one should face this disease alone, let’s close the care gap. Our breast cancer numbers have continued to riddle communities with ratios as high as 1 in every 8 women being affected or being at risk of breast cancer. Hence as FitKhosie Fitness Hub, we’re planning these Awareness Expos to conscientize the community.”
The expo will feature free breast cancer screenings and health check ups provided by local health institutions.
Those present will also learn about treatment options and survivorship. In addition to these health services fun activities for families such as a Color Splash, a business exhibition, and a play corner for children will be featured.
“We want the community and country at large to know that fitness is one of the vital elements to support breast cancer recovery,” Mthabisi said.
