a?The challenge matches that will see five teams fight it out on a round robin format on 25 June will start the league.
One of the teams is made up of former premiership footballers,a? said GrassrootSoccer Zimbabwe managing director Bhekimpilo Moyo.
The league matches will take place at the Football For Hope Centre located in BulawayoasA Gwabalanda suburb.
a?We want the league to run almost daily. People will choose a day when they will be comfortable to play. They can even play after hours since the centre has floodlights.
a?We are looking forward to have 10 clubs per league and this is meant to keep people fit and we are happy that we have a lot of enquiries.
We are targeting to have teams from communities, churches, workmates, ex footballers, and anyone who can form a team whether male or female,a? said Moyo.
He added that the registration fee is pegged at $2.50 for an individual player per month.
a?The registration fee that we charge is meant to maintain the centre. We will need to pay for electricity and water as the dressings have showers. Itas a community centre that is meant to benefit everyone,a? said Moyo.
At the centre people can also access to health services such as HIV testing, male circumcision and family planning services. .
