Five die in road crash

FIVE people died while two others were injured when their Toyota Landcruiser veered off the road and overturned along the Harare-Bulawayo Road last Friday night near the 153km peg at around 9pm.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the bodies of the dead were taken to Kadoma Hospital mortuary for post-mortems. 

Meanwhile, police in Bulawayo are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run road accident in which a woman yet to be identified, died after being hit by an unknown motorist.

The accident occurred on November 3 along Plumtree Road near Island Stream and the driver did not stop. 

The woman’s body was taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals for a post-mortem.
