FIVE GROUPS BOOK PLACES AT CHIBUKU NESHAMWARI CHAMPS

AT least five groups have now booked their places at this year’s Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance national championships set for July 27.

Bindura’s Dzimbahwe Nengoma and Gango from Masvingo are the latest addition after confirming their participation at provincial finals.

The two were winners at provincial finals held on Saturday.

Dzimbahwe Nengoma showcased Chinyambera dance while Gango exhibited the rain-making mhande dance.

They join Nyaungwe Dance Group (Mash East), Bolamba (Mat South) and Pezhuba Pachena (Mat North).

Organisers have hailed the level of competition among participants.

Ten groups will make it to the national finals.

Harare is expected to host its preliminary round on June 22 at PaDziva Camp and Caravan Park.

The national finals are set for July 27 where the winner will walk away with US$15 000.
