hamstring during training.
Five has been one of the outstanding players for the newly-assembled Young Warriors squad that beat Botswana 5-1 on aggregate in the first round of the same tournament.
Young Warriors team manager, Patrick Mutesva, confirmed the setback, but remained confident ahead of the clash as he feels they have capable replacements for the creative midfielder.
“Brian Five is definitely out the tie after he pulled his hamstring. The doctors have since advised us not to gamble on him.
“We will definitely miss him after his impressive show against Botswana but there are enough replacements in the team.
“We should have a clear picture by tomorrow on how we are going to play against Angola.
“We have been training for the past two weeks and played friendly matches against division one sides which I believe have helped us assess different combinations. “The team is shaping up and the boys are really looking forward to the game,” said Mutesva.
The Young Warriors technical team is expected to name the final squad tomorrow with the bulk of players who did the job against Botswana set to be retained in the fold.
“We are working with a group of young talented players and we selected these players from across the country.
“The team will be trimmed tomorrow and we have since been given the nod ahead the Dynamos/CAPS match to play at Rufaro since it’s an international game,” added Mutesva.
Some of the players expected to make it into the team are Harare City’s Willard Kalongoda, the Moyo twins Elvis and Kelvin, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Nqobizitha Masuku and Highlanders’ exciting forward Knox Mutizwa.
There is also Farai Madora, younger brother to senior national team striker Edward Sadomba, who acquitted himself well against Botswana.
Madora was in Zimbabwe’s national five-aside team that convincingly beat Sudan 5-2 in a Futsal World Cup Qualifier and drew with South Africa.
But Vincent Mbira will miss the Angola assignment as he is serving suspension after picking up two yellow cards in the last two rounds against Botswana.
