FLAME LILY have won the Navi World Northern Region Division One promotional race.

A 2-0 victory over ZRP FC at Morris Depot on Saturday afternoon secured the Zimbabwe Prison and Correctional Services outfit a ticket into the Premier Soccer League.

A brace from Prosper Chinyama, young brother to former Caps United striker Heavens Chinyama, saw Flame Lily becoming the second ZPCS side, after Hwahwa in the central region, to gain promotion into the top flight league this season.

Flame Lily finished the race on 76 points, three more than second placed Yadah Gunners.

The team’s coach Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera , whose contract lapses at the end of the year, was over the moon and saluted his charges for the “gallant effort.”

“We worked for it and we deserve it. I thank my players for a job well done. My contract expires next month and I will see what happens,” he said.
