Floods kill 38 in Tanzania

Dar es Salaam. — Flooding sparked by a hail and rainstorm killed 38 people in a village in north-western Tanzania yesterday, police said. More than 60 people were also injured in Mwakata.

Widespread destruction of property was reported.

Regional police commander Justus Kamugisha said rescuers were still searching for survivors or bodies. —Sapa.
