Floyd Mayweather has stepped up his training regime ahead of what is likely to be his last-ever bout on September 12. The pound-for-pound boxing king, who has previously stated that his upcoming fight at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas will most likely be his last, posted a number of snaps on his official Shotsaccount after being put through his paces by his team in the gym.
The 38-year-old, undefeated in his 49 career fights to date, took part in a number of gruelling regimes, including some strength and weight resistance training.
The gym session wasn’t enough for Mayweather though, as he then went on to do a cardio session, going for a run along a busy road in Enterprise, Nevada.
But it wasn’t all work and no play as to cap off a hard day of training, the Money Man then paid a visit to the Adventuredome theme park, situated in Circus Circus on the Las Vegas Strip
Mayweather enjoyed some downtime with friends at the five-acre indoor amusement park, going on the bumper cars and other rides, while also participating in a basketball challenge, which the American unsurprisingly did rather well at.
The opponent for Mayweather’s fight on September 12 is yet to be decided, although Andre Berto is a leading contender at this time.
In a statement on boxingscene.com the 31-year-old confirmed his interest in fighting Mayweather, saying: “I’m happy to be in the running for this fight and am definitely up for the challenge. I know it will be a great fight if it happens.”
Berto, who has Mayweather’s manager Al Haymon, will be looking to improve his record of 30-3 should he get the opportunity to face the legend.
Amir Khan, Canelo Alvarez, Timothy Bradley, Keith Thurman and Kell Brook are among the other names who would want to step in the ring. — mailonline.
