ZIMBABWEANS must take heed of all health regulations put in place by Government to contain and manage the spread of Covid-19, Zanu PF has urged.

The ruling party’s National Political Commissar Cde Victor Matemadanda called on the public to exercise caution and play a part in fighting the global pandemic.

Cde Matemadanda urged the country and party leadership to adhere to President Mnangagwa’s call to be vigilant in the fight against the deadly disease.

“Coronavirus is not something to play with or about it is real,” he said.

“It is now a pandemic, the whole world is exposed and this means that every health rule and law that can help in containing the disease should be obeyed. Everyone should play a part both as individuals and collectively to mitigate this disease’s impact and spread and as a party we are going by President Mnangagwa’s directive that we should avoid gathering in our numbers.

“Coronavirus is bigger than any political grudge or ambitions, hence it is only imperative that the nation puts up a formidable force built on unity, to combat the disease regardless of political differences.”

Cde Matemadanda said it was important for the party to keep a personal connection with members and supporters alike, hence the need to encourage the nation to join hands and unite against the pandemic.

“As a party, Zanu PF wants to have a personal relationship with every citizen and voter, so we want to use this opportunity to continue urging the nation to desist from public gatherings and crowding,” said Cde Matemadanda.

Any other party business has been put on hold.
