A Bulawayo man allegedly fondled the breasts of a woman who was in the company of her boyfriend after the couple had refused to give him R5. Vusumuzi Ndlovu, 23, from Pumula South reportedly went on to assault the woman’s boyfriend when he confronted him for his unruly behaviour. The incident occurred at Rock Sports Bar in Pumula South on Thursday.
Ndlovu appeared before regional magistrate Willard Moyo at Western Commonage Courts on Friday facing indecent assault, assault and malicious damage of property charges.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded out of custody to October 14.
The state led by Kingston Mukanganwi alleges that at Rock Sports Bar, at around 10PM, Ndlovu was blocking the entrance when the woman and her boyfriend approached.
The couple intended to enter the bar but Ndlovu demanded R5 and when they refused to pay, he fondled the woman’s breasts.
Ndlovu then teamed up with his friend Xolani Dube and assaulted the woman’s boyfriend, after he asked Ndlovu to apologise. They punched him until he ran off to make a police report.
The man also had to be rushed to hospital for medical attention.
Dube and Ndlovu allegedly followed the man and when passing by his home, they started throwing stones and damaged windows. They were spotted by a resident, Thulani Ndlovu, who identified them.
