The truck they were travelling in was involved in a head-on collision with a Ford Ranger on the 10km peg from Kadoma near Ingezi turn-off.
The truck, which the players were using, tried to overtake a haulage truck, resulting in the collision.
The injured players were all admitted at Kadoma General Hospital.
In November 2004, 17 Sporting Lions players were injured after their team bus was involved in an accident on their way from a league match in Hwange.
Sporting Lions secretary James Pswarayi, who was driving the bus, died after their vehicle hit a cow before crashing against a tree.
In March 2004, three CAPS United players, Blessing Makunike, Shingi Arlon and Gary Mashoko died after their car was involved in an accident along the same Harare-Bulawayo Road.
