PEOPLE’s Choice emcee and wheel-spinner, DJ Fantan, says performing at national events is a responsibility he is always happy to be part of.

He said he can’t wait to meet his fans in Buhera on April 18 during the Uhuru celebrations.

The 35-year-old is part of the star-studded line-up set to entertain Zimbabweans at Murambinda Growth Point.

DJ Fantan said the Murambinda date was a bit special as he is set to invade the business centre, alongside his  Chillspot clique of Levels and Ribhe, for the first time.

“This will be my first time performing in Buhera with the entire team of Levels, Ribhe, plus a surprise act.

“We can only promise fireworks at this event to ensure that we leave lasting memories at the 44th Uhuru celebrations.

“I enjoy performing at national events because I will be doing it for my country.

“I have always availed myself whenever I am there to serve my country.

“As it stands, this is national duty that I cannot turn down for the good of our country.

“It’s not easy to be selected among all the emcees and disc jockeys we have in Zimbabwe.”

He added:

“I can safely say I am a modern-day emcee who gets along with the youths.

“I know the language they want to hear as well as the songs which they enjoy the most.

“As someone from the streets of Mbare, I always interact with the young people and I know their ghetto stories.

“The same applies to young people in rural areas, who are also in touch with modern-day trends in showbiz, due to technology.

“Young people in rural areas also know me very well and it’s their time to enjoy themselves.”
