A HOST of foreign-based Sables players have confirmed they will be part of the Zimbabwe senior side when they begin camp tomorrow for the Africa Cup Group A1 match against Namibia.
The Africa Cup will take place in Windhoek next weekend and the Sables are expected to be in camp for five days.
Team manager, Sebastian Garikai, said Gerald Sibanda, Denford Mutamangira, Hilton Mudariki, Biselele Tsamala, Sanele Sibanda, Riaan O’Neill, Royal Mwale and Andrew Rose have confirmed their availability for the camp.
Garikai said the eight players are expected in the country this afternoon.
“Finally, the time has come, we are expecting all our foreign-based players today and they will be in camp with us tomorrow.
“We have a set of good players and we believe they will make our nation proud. It is not going to be easy but we are going to ensure that we give the Namibians a good run.
“We have been training with the local players and so far all is well. We have been working on a number of areas and what is needed now is to mix with our foreign-based players and continue training,” said Garikai.
The Sables trained with the Cheetahs on four occasions and were impressed with the idea of mixing the two teams.
The two Zimbabwean sides have an opportunity of training together on Wednesdays.
