A CHEEKY man, who was performing community service at Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court, where he forged a court order to confiscate property from his ex-wife, has been sentenced.
Brian Chidoma Mandala (27) of Mpata Section in Chinhoyi, was sentenced to 24 months in prison by magistrate Rumbidzai Tshuma.
Six months were suspended on condition of good behaviour.
However, another suspended six months, from a previous conviction, was brought into effect.
This means Mandala will serve an effective 24 months behind bars.
Prosecutor Clever Nyapfani told the court that Mandala was tasked with cleaning the provincial head’s office at the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court on October 11.
This was part of his community service sentence.
He then forged a handwritten court order, and used the provincial head’s stamp, to make it appear authentic.
Mandala took the fake court order to his ex-wife, Eunice Milanzi’s place, on the morning of October 12.
He gave it to Shamiso Emisipo, since Milanzi was not home.
Emisipo allowed Mandala to collect all the property, included in the fake court order.
