Form 4 student commits suicide

A form 4 student at St Faith High School in Rusape committed suicide Friday afternoon.

Details of the suicide are not known.

The school headmaster, A Makamba announced the sad development in a memo to parents:

“Good evening dear parents and guardians. It is with a heavy heart that  I inform you of the passing of one of our student, Tatenda Kapuya in form 4B. Tatenda committed suicide this afternoon around 1pm.

“We are greatly saddened by this event. The situation in the school is calm.

All stakeholders have been informed. Let us keep Tatenda, his family and St Faith’s community in our prayers during this difficult time. Please note that the GM and consultation will still be held tomorrow as planned.

A close source who is attending the funeral has also confirmed.

“We are currently at the funeral.

“His mother is my friend,” said the source.
