Form one boy up for rape

A Form One Harare boy yesterday appeared in court for allegedly raping a Grade 4 pupil. The juvenile (15) appeared before Harare magistrate Ms Josephine Sande facing a rape charge. He was remanded in the custody of his guardian to November 18 . The prosecutor Ms Linda Gadzikwa alleged that last week, during the night the accused visited the complainant’s place with his friend who is the boyfriend of complainant’s sister.

It is alleged that the complainant’s sister went away with her boyfriend leaving the accused with the complainant. The court heard that the accused undressed the complainant and also took off his clothes. He allegedly held the complainant’s legs and hands while covering her mouth with some cushion covers. It is the State’s case that the accused raped the complainant once and also had anal sex with her without her consent. The complainant later told her sister what had transpired during her absence. She was immediately taken to hospital for medical examinations and they reported the matter to the police.
