Mupasi was based at Beitbridge Police Station during his time in the force and was discharged on theft charges.
The duo was remanded in custody to tomorrow for judgment.
The prosecutor, Mr James Murambiza, alleged that on 29 November last year at around midnight, Mupasi and Mununi allegedly connived and told Mr Martin Chirega, a foreign currency dealer, that they were police officers.
The State alleges that the two men accused the money changer of having given fake money to their unnamed sister in an earlier transaction.
They took $1 525 and R50 from Mr Chirega.
The two were allegedly armed with two pairs of handcuffs belonging to the South African Police Service.
