Former model launches book

A THIRTY-YEAR-OLD former model, Valerie Chingonzo, has officially launched a book titled “Kingdom Beauty Regime,” which she intends to distribute to different schools.

Valerie, who is also a radio and television presenter currently hosting online radio shows on Radio Musika, says she is a voice for the young girls.

“This book comes from a place where I became comfortable with my inner beauty and feelings.

“It is about me and the transformation in my life through certain experiences.

“I was a beauty queen and I was privileged to compete and to be celebrated on the international stage, yet I was not celebrating myself on the inside.

“I suffered from bouts of depression.

“The deaths of my loved ones, low self-image and low self-esteem because of my journey with acne, was part of it too.

“I decided to face these monsters head on and to stop hiding behind my beauty and glamorous world.

“I finally learnt the true value, the core and the meaning of a Queen from the inside out,” she said.

Valerie said her inspiration came through the biblical principles that were revealed to her through the Holy Spirit.

“The book covers issues to do with health, beauty, image, wellness, mental health and depression.

“I am looking forward to the schools tour I will be embarking on from October because it will be very beneficial to teenagers considering the increasing cases of depression, mental health and suicide.

“The book equips one with tips on being confident and celebrating one’s uniqueness.”

She has won several titles.

“Currently, the book can be found in all Innov8 book stores and Folio Book Store at Sam Levy’s Village.

“It can also be found be found at Tayana Health Spa and Mambokadzi Wellness Centre.

“It recently got approved on Amazon.

“I will be descending mostly on high schools and universities in Harare.

“I invited 50 schools in Harare so I have a good database and established relationship already with the schools.”

She holds a Diploma in Media Studies, a Bsc (Hons) degree in Women and Gender Studies and a Master of Arts in Development Studies.
