FORMER Warriors and Dynamos FC legendary goalkeeper Gift Umbro Muzadzi has appeared in court on allegations of planting dagga in his garden.
Muzadzi was facing charges of contravening the Dangerous Drugs Act when he appeared before Harare Magistrate Mrs Yeukai Dzuda.
He is out on $50 000 bail.
The court heard that on May 29, Police received a tip off to the effect that there was a house in Good Hope area, Harare where several plants of dagga are being cultivated in the garden.
Acting on the tip off, Police proceeded to Muzadzi’s house where they entered the yard and identified themselves.
It is the State’s case that the officers found seven plants of dagga planted in a garden.
They interviewed Muzadzi’s wife, Mendy Mhene who stated that the plants belonged to her husband. The officers further interviewed Muzadzi who revealed that the seven plants of dagga belonged to him.
The recovered dagga had a height measuring between 0,86 metres to 1,8 metres high.
The recovered plants of dagga will be produced in court as exhibits.
Muzadzi had no right to possess the dangerous drug without a permit or licence.
