Former ZIMPARKS regional manager arrested, appears in court

Former Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority Regional Manager for the Eastern Highlands, Luke Njiva appeared at the Mutare Provincial Anti-Corruption court today on allegations of criminal abuse of duty.

He was arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission for allegedly showing favour to Mike Chinheva, the director of Mo Fair Investments, by disclosing a project budget of US$20 000 for the construction of a house for Zimparks.

He is accused of directing Chinheva to alter his quotation from US$27 383 to US$19 500 to fit within the project’s budget.

Njiva was remanded out of custody on US$100 bail.
