WHAT does a high-profile duo, worth a combined US$4billion in net value, want in Zimbabwe to lure them to visit this country within a period of two weeks?
Well, that is the magic of this country which the tourism authorities even refer to as ‘world of wonders.’
Richard Branson, with a net worth of US$3.6 billion, was the first to come to Zimbabwe two weeks ago, choosing to fly budget airline Fastjet, from Johannesburg.
The billionaire businessman has a massive global profile after he founded the Virgin Group in the 1970s which today controls more than 400 companies in various fields.
According to Forbes magazine, Branson is the 798th richest person in the world today.
Now, flamboyant United States boxer, Floyd “Money” Mayweather, is scheduled to visit the country tomorrow as part of his Motherland Tour on Thursday and Friday.
Mayweather’s visit is being organised by TMT Africa and a local firm, Better Brands, owned by businessman Scott Sakupwanya.

The Money Man is one of the wealthiest athletes in the world with a reported net worth of about US$450 million.
His net worth has been largely accumulated through his successful boxing career, which has seen him earn record-breaking pay-checks from his high-profile fights.
His impending visit, which will see a stopover in South Africa, has been trending on either side of the Limpopo.
“Mayweather will be having the tour in both South Africa and Zimbabwe, where he will first tour Harare on July 13 and 14, then visit Johannesburg on July 15 and Durban on July 16 2023,” reported the Sunday World of South Africa.
“The news of his tour was shared by one of the promoters UFORYA Entertainment, which is a division of Universal Music Group, on their social media pages.”
The visit to Harare will include an open workout at Mabvuku Stadium and an exclusive dinner at the five-star Meikles Hotel.
Mayweather announced he would be visiting Zimbabwe after meeting Sakupwanya in Dubai.
“Here with one of my close friends from Africa, Zimbabwe, I’m on my way,” the American superstar said.
“We are working on the motherland tour. I gotta go back to Africa,I gotta go back to the motherland but I can’t do it without my man Scott.”
