FOUR Highlanders Football Club supporters who were among six Bosso fans who perished in a road accident will be buried in a combined funeral service in Filabusi today.
The four, Fanuel Murindi, Fortune Dube, Emmanuel Chirwa and Zaina Sibanda, will be laid to rest following a funeral service to be held in Filabusi, with burial taking place immediately afterwards at a community graveyard.
Busani Moyo, another of the six supporters who lost their lives in the accident, was buried on Thursday at Luveve Cemetery in Bulawayo following a church service at Doves Funeral Services.
Funeral arrangements for the sixth victim, Christina Zikhali, are yet to be announced.
Highlanders has been standing with the bereaved families following the tragedy, which claimed the lives of the six supporters.
The club said details of Zikhali’s funeral would be communicated once they have been confirmed, while extending its thoughts to the bereaved families, relatives and friends.
The tragic accident has plunged the Highlanders family into mourning, with the club paying tribute to the supporters and expressing its condolences to their loved ones.
The late supporters who perished near Filabusi last Sunday have been granted State-assisted funerals.
The supporters died last Sunday about 15 kilometres from Amazon Shopping Centre along the Filabusi Road, after the NV350 kombi they were travelling in rammed into a stationary tipper truck. A Honda Fit subsequently piled into the crash.
Four other people survived the accident and were rushed to hospital.
The six supporters were returning to Filabusi after watching Highlanders take on Herentals at Barbourfields Stadium earlier that Sunday.
