FOUR people were injured yesterday when an unlicenced tout rammed a kombi in a stationary Paradise Luxury Coach at corner Baines Avenue and Sam Nujoma Street.

The tout, Tawanda Katoma, 38, of Mufakose was given the steering wheel by the driver plying the Harare-Bindura route.

The four, including Tawanda, sustained head injuries and were rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

Tawanda Munikwa, 41, was behind Paradise Luxury Coach wheels when Katoma hit the right back corner of his bus.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, urged commuter omnibus drivers to avoid allowing unlicenced drivers to drive their vehicles.

“Police are investigating circumstances that led to a road traffic accident that left four people injured,” said Insp Chakanza.

“Preliminary investigations have shown that a kombi driver with six passengers on board hit a stationary bus from the back along Sam Nujoma Street,” he said.

The other injured people were Precious Joseph, of Glendale, Kudzanai Maruziva of Centenary and Tsungirirai Mcinjo of Hatcliffe.
