FOUR-midable Sikhali shatters Ndlovuas Somhlolo millennium record

PETER Ndlovuas Somhlolo National Stadium new millennium international match goals record has tumbled!

Mbabane Swallows and Sihlangu prolific striker, Sabelo Ndzinisaas double brace on Tuesday afternoon shaved off the international hat trick record set by former Zimbabwe international striker and now Mamelodi Sundowns manager when the Warriors hammered Sihlangu 5-0 in a Cosafa match on 27 June 2004.

Ndzinisa, affectionately known as Sikhali or Bazooka, could be the favourite for Zimbabweans match with his goal that sank Guinea as Sihlangu won 1-0 confirming the Warriors trip to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals held in Gabon.

With just 34 days before that record turned 13 years, it took Ndzinisa just 58 minutes to equal it before setting the record at four goals in the 75th minute as Mbabane Swallows took visiting Platinum Stars to the sweepers 4-2 in the Caf Confederations Cup group match.

He had struck his first two within the opening six minutes.

This is not the first time the yet to be crowned 2016 /17 MTN Premier League of Swaziland top goal scorer has struck four goals in a single match having hit Ludzeludze with six when Swallows won 11-3 in the SwaziBank Cup opener.

Tuesdayas game saw the Zimbabwe quartet of match officials a Norman Matemera, Salani Ncube, Luckson Mhara and Nomore Masundire put up a superb show in charge of the match.

The other Zimbabwean on the day was Talent Maphosa who sat out throughout the 90 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, with another Warriors/Sihlangu clash looming large in the Castle Lager Cosafa Cup quarter-final should Zimbabwe sail past the Group B, the Swazi coach, Pieter De Jongh will have to do with fringes as close to a dozen regulars are with Caf Confederations Cup -tied Mbabane Swallows.

The quarter-final match is sandwiched by Swallows two last Caf Confederations Cup group matches against CS Safaxien at Somhlolo National Stadium on 30 June, the day the Warriors will be taking on Seychelles.

Swallows will then travel to Rustenburg a week later to face Platinum Stars in the last group match, the same weekend set for the Castle Lager Cosafa Cup final in the same town.

This also means the Warriors will have to do without Caps United players as the Zimbabwe defending champions will be hosting Zamalek in Harare on 30 June before travelling to Algeria to face USM Algier a week later.

If eventually Warriors meet Sihlangu in quarter finals, this will be the seventh Cosafa meeting dominated by Zimbabwe three wins against Swazilandas one, with the other two ending in stalemates.

The last meeting was on 11 June last year in Windhoek which saw the Warriors fight back from 0-2 to level the affairs 2-2.
