Four parastatals get new board members

President Mnangagwa has appointed new members to four parastatals’ boards effective from July 8, 2021, to ensure that they increase their operational efficiency in support of the Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement Ministry’s developmental and transformative thrust.

Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement Minister Dr Anxious Masuka today announced new members of four parastatals boards at Ngungunyana House.

Dr Dumisani Kutwayo and Aaron Denenga have been appointed to the Tobacco Research Board (TRB), Tatenda Maokomatanda to the Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA), Clarieta Mazongeza for the Silo Foods Industries, Kundai Makuku and Memory Mashaya to the Tobacco Industry Marketing Board (TIMB) have been appointed today with effective from July 8, 2021.

Announcing the new additional appointments, Dr Masuka challenged the additional new leadership of the four parastatals to transform the parastatals into a viable commercial entity.

“Agriculture can uplift the 70 percent of Zimbabweans that daily earn a living from agriculture so that they two become participants but become major players in the upliftment of our country and they participate in Vision 2030.

“As the Ministry we would able to formulate policies that are enabling to ensure that agriculture strives but we also have parastatals that are key to the transformation to the parastatals landscape and I am pleased to announce that the President has added members to four parastatals board,” said Dr Masuka.

Dr Masuka said President Mnangagwa has added members to the four parastatal boards to complement the efforts of these boards and to ensure that they increase their operational efficiency in support of the ministry’s developmental and transformative thrust but more importantly in support of the President’s Vision 2030.

Dr Masuka urged Agriculture Colleges to transform their education strategy to higher definition so as to achieve the goal of Vision 2030 of an empowered and prosperous upper middle class economy.
