Four Zanu PF wings in southern Harare get US$300k

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has unveiled a revolving fund to the tune of US$300 000 as an empowerment initiative for the party’s four wings: the main wing, Women’s League, War Veterans League and the Youth League for Zone 5.

Zone 5 comprises Mabvuku-Tafara, Epworth, Hatfield and Waterfalls.

He also unveiled 3 million bricks which will be used to build a secondary school in Epworth.

Newly co-opted Zanu PF Central Committee member Dr Kudakwashe Tagwirei unveiled the revolving fund on behalf of the President.

Addressing an inter-district meeting held at Epworth High School grounds, Dr Tagwirei highlighted that the initiative is a practical demonstration of the ruling party’s “people-first approach” and national empowerment drive.

“President Mnangagwa has unveiled US$75 000 for the party’s main wing in Zone 5, US$75 000 for the Youth League, US$75 000 for the Women’s League and US$75 000 for War Veterans. The President has also unveiled 3 million bricks and 18 truckloads of cement for the construction of the secondary school in Epworth,” said Dr Tagwirei.

In support of the empowerment, Presidential Advisor Dr Paul Tungwarara pledged to build a precast concrete wall at Epworth High School.

The inter-district meeting aimed to provide conference feedback to Zanu PF supporters in Zone 5.

At least 45 000 party members from Zone 5 attended the inter-district meeting to receive feedback reports from the Zanu PF Annual People’s Conference held in Mutare.

Guest of honour Zanu PF Secretary for Education, Research and Ideology Cde Charles Tawengwa gave a detailed report on conference resolutions.

“The conference was not just a talk show; it was serious business where issues were raised and debated at length, culminating in resolutions. Major issues raised pertained to the state of the economy and improving the livelihoods of the people,” stated Cde Tawengwa.

On economic clusters, Dr Tagwirei presented a report focusing on economic growth since the advent of the Second Republic.

The meeting was attended by business tycoon and Mabvuku-Tafara Member of Parliament Scott Sakupwanya, Obey Chimuka and Dr Tungwarara.

Zanu PF Harare provincial chairman Cde Godwills Masimirembwa stated that the inter-district meeting at Epworth High School grounds was to provide conference feedback to more than 45 000 party supporters and affiliate organisations.

The inter-district meeting was attended by Secretary for War Veterans Cde Douglas Mahiya; Zanu PF Council of Elders member Cde Idah Mashonganyika; Zanu PF Women’s League Secretary for External Affairs Cde Betty Kaseke; Deputy Secretary for Economic Affairs Cde Andy Mlanga; Zanu PF Vice Provincial Chairman Cde Ephraim Fundukwa; Zanu PF Provincial Political Commissar Cde Voyage Dambuza; and Harare Provincial Chairlady Cde Babra Mwale.

Cde Masimirembwa mentioned that the inter-district meetings are also part of the ruling party’s mobilisation strategy.
