A DELEGATION of 15 content creators, including Frets Donzvo and Mama Vee, are set for the premiere of Zambian comedy film ‘‘AISHA.’’

Led by Takunda Tapfuma, the co-founder of The Content Creators Association of Zimbabwe (COCAZ), the local team is excited to be part of the movie premiere.

Tapfuma said the movie, starring Zambian comedian Lucky Comedy, explores cultural values and promotes unity, making it a perfect fit for COCAZ’s mission to preserve and promote African cultural identity.

In an interview with Zimpapers Arts and Entertainment Hub, Tapfuma said the event presents a unique opportunity for COCAZ to promote cultural exchange and showcase Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage.

“AISHA explores cultural values, resonating deeply with COCAZ’s mission to preserve and promote African cultural identity.

“This aligns with COCAZ’s goal of fostering cross-cultural understanding and appreciation.

“This is a unique opportunity for us to promote cultural exchange and showcase Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage.

“We’re thrilled to be part of this cultural extravaganza and demonstrate our commitment to promoting African cultural values,” he said.

Comedian and musician Frets said the main objective is to strengthen collaboration and creative policy across Africa.

Lucky Comedy, the star of the show, said the film seeks to unify Africa.

“We wanted to use comedy as a tool to tell a story of African cultural diversity.

“The movie features comedians from different regions, speaking their own dialects, and promotes understanding and acceptance.”

Lucky said ‘‘AISHA’’ is a story of a young villager’s journey to the city in search of greener pastures only to discover that the streetlights of Lusaka cast shadows as long as they shine.

“With humour, Aisha delivers laughter and lessons, drawing from real Zambian experiences.

“The film uniquely blends traditional heritage with contemporary urban life. It not only features celebrated comedians, but also respected traditional chiefs.”

The delegation includes top influencers such as Frets, Mama Vee, Kimnanah, Rutendo, Muku Zim1, Kuda Rushman, Shamiso Nduru, Mercy, and renowned script writer Bridget Paradza, who will represent COCAZ at the event.

During their stay, the team will engage with Zambian content creators, participate in cultural events, and explore potential collaborations.

Tapfuma said the trip will strengthen bonds between Zimbabwean and Zambian creatives, paving the way for future joint projects.

“Our participation in the movie premiere will showcase our content creators’ talents, they will also be able to learn and share with other countries who will be present.
