Zimbabwean author and motivational powerhouse Kudakwashe T Muganu, based in South Africa, has added yet another accolade to his growing list of achievements. The multi-talented entrepreneur, life coach, philanthropist, and award-winning writer was recently honoured with the Best Motivational Speaker of the Year 2025 award at the Emerge Africa Awards ceremony, held in Johannesburg last month.

Muganu is no stranger to recognition. In 2023, he was named Outstanding Author of the Year at the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards. His two published books, The Power of Wisdom and Who Does Not Want to Quit School, have resonated deeply with readers across the region.

He credits The Power of Wisdom as the game-changer that launched his professional speaking career.
“That book opened doors for me to speak at events across South Africa. I’ve been invited to platforms like the City of Ekurhuleni Authors Summit, the Gauteng Provincial Department events, and media houses like Soweto TV, Jozi FM, Alex FM, and Kasie FM,” he shared.

Notably, The Power of Wisdom has been approved for use in South African schools and libraries, showing its relevance and empowering message for young readers.

Muganu’s story is also one of resilience. Born with a stammer, he only began to speak clearly at the age of five. Today, that same voice commands attention at conferences, schools, funerals, and on both radio and television.
“I was a stammerer, but now I speak for a living. This shows that your gift can become your livelihood,” Muganu said.

“I want to encourage young people: refine your gift, and it will make room for you. It will take you before kings and queens.”

Through his journey, Muganu continues to inspire a generation to rise above their limitations, find purpose, and turn passion into progress.
