‘Frustrated’ Cassper Nyovest dishes on dissing Amanda du-Pont

DESPITE talk of a break-up and a humiliating change of lyrics at the Metro FM Awards, Cassper Nyovest insists he and Amanda du-Pont are on good terms. The rapper said he did not mean to be malicious when he controversially rapped that even “Amanda ain’t tailored for me/ Now I really mess with women as famous as me” at the Metro FM Awards.

Nyovest, real name Refiloe Phoolo, was the closing act at the awards ceremony where he picked up five gongs.

While speculation was rife that Nyovest had dumped du-Pont, the Swazi beauty opted to deny ever dating him. She told Drum magazine the two were just really good friends.

Now Nyovest has spoken out and admitted he felt frustrated about their “friendship”.

He told Drum that he had read certain things in the papers — alluding to a report by a Sunday tabloid that du-Pont had been seen cosying up to a Free State businessman in Cape Town.

“You read papers and some of the things, you come out and see them . . . I was just frustrated at that point. But me and Amanda are cool.”

Nyovest added: “I don’t really want to elaborate on that because I spoke to her and I don’t want people to think I was being malicious.”

The duo have continued to keep people guessing if they are indeed back together, with Nyovest fuelling the hype once more by releasing a music video with du-Pont as his love interest, one week after the Metro FM Awards.

The video was shot last year. In response to the video, du-Pont wrote on her Instagram page: “No love lost . . . Check out Ghetto music video on YouTube . . .”

While they were once spotted spending quality time together, attending events and posting a couple of selfies, it has been nearly two months since they were seen together in public. — TimesLive
