Masvingo magistrate Ms Lyn Ma- nyika convicted Trust Mhosva of Kwayi Village, Sengwe communal lands for attempted murder after he stabbed Manuel Sithole in 2007 following a misunderstanding.
Mhosva fled to South Africa where he lay low until his deportation in September 2012. Facts are that on December 5, 2007 Mhosva was sitting on a footbridge in Hippo Valley with his friends when he was greeted by Sithole.
Mhosva responded by kicking Sithole, sparking a fist-fight.
Mhosva drew a knife and stabbed Sithole on the neck and back.
He then crossed the border into South Africa and was arrested after his deportation two years ago.
