MEMBERS of Parliament were not elected into the august House to wear expensive suits and drive luxurious cars but to deliver tangible results in their respective constituencies, Buhera South legislator Cde Joseph Chinotimba has said.Addressing school heads at Mutiusinazita High School in Buhera on Saturday during the launch of a soccer tournament for primary schools sponsored by G-Tel, Cde Chinotimba said legislators must fulfil election promises.

“This is not time to relax but it is time to walk the talk and deliver what we promised the people during the campaigns for the 2013 harmonised elections.

“What people need now is action which brings development in their communities, which is one of the major reasons why they voted for us,” Cde Chinotimba said.

He sourced 20 000 litres of diesel from well-wishers and two graders from Zinara to repair the Murambinda-Birchenough road.
“People of Buhera South voted me into power to deliver tangible results and that is exactly what I am doing.

“This year I am concentrating on repairing all roads in my constituency so that public transport can have easy access to my constituency” he said.

Cde Chinotimba said the soccer tournament was part of his efforts at computerising schools as winners would be given computers.
“This soccer tournament will see the top three out of more than 40 primary schools in the constituency winning computers and solar panels and this will boost the computer literacy rate in the schools” he said.

Speaking at the same occasion, Manicaland acting provincial education director Andrew Chigumira thanked Cde Chinotimba for remembering education as the key to success for every child.
