Full house for Macheso

marked the introduction of Macheso’s new dancer, Forward Antonio, who made his maiden performance with Orchestra Mberikwazvo outfit following the departure of Peter Kagomera.
Peter is said to have joined Beverly Sibanda’s Sexy Angels.
Macheso did not mince his words in denouncing his former dancer’s untoward behaviour.
“Peter akakoromora (Peter committed a crime),” before he introducing the young new dancer to the crowd.
Forward, who dresses like Peter and also spots a similar hairstyle — showed glimpses of brilliance with his fancy footwork.
He gelled well with the other members of the group and given enough time, can even do better than Peter.
“Prodigal son” Elton Muropa, also marked his return to the Orchestra Mberikwazvo fold after a brief flirtation with Suluman Chimbetu’s Orchestra Dendera Kings.
Macheso welcomed him back into the group describing Muropa’s somersaulting as “iyi ndiyo inonzi penga udzoke (this is the typical case of the prodigal son who has returned home),” Macheso said.
Earlier on, the Sounds of the Muddy Face band, led by Shemu “Chibage” Mashonganyika, curtain-raised for Macheso and showed that they are a gifted lot when they played songs by their late leader, Cephas Mashakada.
Hits like “Samson”, “Vadzidzi Vangu”, “Mazita” thrilled the audience and Chibage impressed with his voice that sounded exactly like Mashakada’s.
Elsewhere, Baba Machanic Manyeruke’s former guitarist, Herbert Majeke and his Takashinga outfit gave people a memorable weekend with a polished act at Emm                           Glo Bar and Restaurant and Kule’s Bar in Harare.
Majeke’s first show was at Emm Glo where he unveiled his new instruments and his uniform, as part of his branding efforts.
Majeke jolted revellers to their feet after he played a rendition of the late Tongai Moyo’s popular song, “Ganda Remvura”, among other copyrights by legendary musicians Thomas Mapfumo and Alick Macheso, among others.
The young artiste and his group have become a permanent feature at the joint where he plays every Saturday.
From Emm Glo Bar and Restaurant, Majeke took his act to Kule’s Bar where he teamed up with sensational pole dancer Zoey and the Sexy Lambs.
