MASIYEPAMBILI Junior School will this weekend play host to a fundraising golf tournament in partnership with a leading fire-fighting company, Firetech. The event will be held at Harry Allen Golf Club. The school hopes to raise about $5 000 to fund the construction of a school hall.
According to Lorraine Huwa, a player herself, they will use a four-ball-better ball format.
Four-ball alliance is a match pitting two teams of two players (a total of four balls being played, hence the name).

All four players play their own ball throughout and at the end of each hole, the low score between the two partners on each team is that team’s score
“We are expecting a good turnout as we fundraise for our school hall project. It’s an annual event on our school calendar and we are therefore inviting every golf enthusiast to come on board and participate,” said Huwa.

Firetech general manager, Lovemore Ndebele confirmed partnering with the school. He said his company was sponsoring prizes for hole Four and 14 as well as the best putting.

There is also a special prize for most golf.
“We are giving back to the community we do business with through this spopnsorship. Firetech will also provide refreshments to players,” said Ndebele who will partner with Huwa and two other players in their team.
