Furious fans call for Loga’s head

THE calls for under-fire Warriors coach, Zdravko Logarusic to be axed grew even louder yesterday after Zimbabwe suffered a last-gasp collapse to lose to Ethiopia in a 2022 World Cup qualifier.

With the match seemingly headed for a stalemate, the hosts converted a penalty in the fourth minute of stoppage time to pocket all three points.

And, the Warriors fans, the majority of whom have never embraced Loga, took to social media to express their continued displeasure with the expatriate coach.

A number of fans demanded that ZIFA should part ways with the Croat and here are some of their comments:

Kelvin Kabaya — I don’t know what it will take for this abusive relationship with this coach to be terminated.

Ushe Hanyani Jonasi — I would love to know the background check. This guy might be a carpenter in Croatia. Those long balls from the ‘keeper, was it a game plan or what? With that, surely, we don’t want any embarrassment in Qatar. Let’s just donate the remaining points and go home.

Regis Chawatama — It’s no rocket science, Loga has failed to manage the Warriors. He just has to go period! Anything else is just a waste of time.

Gladman Magigwana — I feel like the whole management and technical team must be fired, that coach is not producing results.

Dereck Mudadi — ZIFA, we deserve something better, please can you fire that plumber, we’re no longer interested in this. We don’t believe in him anymore, we need a better coach for us to perform well at AFCON. Enough is enough!

Kudakwashe Kunyongana — If we can’t win against Ethiopia, with all due respect to Ethiopia, who are we going to win against? In all fairness, this is pathetic, outrageous and barbaric display from our team.

Timothy Mugova — This LOGA guy is clueless and out of depth to lead the national team. In all fairness this is a group we should be leading at this juncture, please ZIFA, stop the rot. Heads certainly must roll. He has failed. Period.

Alakanani Dube — You know what, clearly we’re not heading to the World Cup. Loga can keep his job, I don’t care.

Albert Mashoko — The whole technical team should just go. This is an embarrassment, to say least.

Mike Zemura — I sit here and ask myself, what has really happened to our team? Not so long ago, you could bet your house they would win, even in the last minute, remember Khama Billiat’s so-called “Miracle Goal” against Malawi? Was it because they were then camping at Prophet Magaya’s complex? Something just isn’t right, the body language, the resignation, the drive, we have to go back to the template, which used to make us win matches.

Godfrey Simbarashe Ncube — I think Loga and Zimbabwe are not a good fit. Please do the right thing and let him go.

Mehluli Sibanda — As Zimbabweans, we asked after the COSAFA debacle what we have done to deserve such humiliation but no one listened to us, now we are losing to Ethiopia, that is unacceptable. Maybe, ZIFA should just ask this Loga character to go back to his country.

Benjamin Mujuru — This Loga guy, why is he still the coach with that awful record? Pasuwa did way better and definitely on a lower salary than this Loga guy.

Mike Madoda — Warriors fall to a penalty in added time and now anchor Group G. Is this the surprise in September that Logarusic was talking about?
