FUZ gives Simba Bhora ultimatum

Sports Reporter

FOOTBALLERS Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ) yesterday gave Simba Bhora 24 hours to reverse their decision to terminate contracts of five players without their consent.

The affected players are Hardlife Zvirekwi, Nigel Tinarwo, Kumbiraishe Kapikinyu, Blessing Mukoko and Kudakwashe Wilson.

A Simba Bhora official said these players were ringleaders of the on and off player revolt towards the end of the season demanding salary increments.

FUZ warned that failure by the club to meet the deadline would result in the players’ union instituting legal proceedings.

“We contact you in relation to the situation of Simba Bhora Football Club players mentioned above whom we represent as members of the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe.

“We wish to refer you to the fixed term standard employment contract concluded between Simba Bhora Football Club and the concerned players with different start and end dates.

We advise that the club has terminated the players’ contracts without just cause which is a serious violation of the employment relationship which we are not willing to tolerate.

“We demand the club to reverse this anomaly within the next 24 hrs, failure of which we will initiate legal proceedings with compensation against Simba Bhora,” read the FUZ letter.

Simba Bhora President, Simba “Buju” Ndoro, told H-Metro that they had agreed to settle the issue on Monday.
