CHICKEN INN boss, Joey Antipas, believes they are in a good space to upset Highlanders at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday.
The Gamecocks are slowly getting back their groove following three wins in a row.
Chicken Inn are 10 points behind log leaders FC Platinum, and a point ahead of third-placed Dynamos.
The former champions are on course to claim the Castle Lager Premiership runners-up spot, a feat they also achieved last season.
But, they will need to pass a tough character test when they meet Bosso.
Antipas admitted that it’s always an uphill task to play against the Bulawayo giants at their fortress.
“I think we have the capacity to upset Bosso.
“Playing Bosso on their turf has always been a challenge,” said Antipas.
“The boys have been doing well of late.
“We have managed three important victories on the trot and it’s a good boost as we try to consolidate the runners-up position.
“That’s all we can fight for, as we can’t afford to lose sight of this race.”
Nothing has separated these two teams in their previous three fixtures.
Brian Muza, Tafadzwa Kutinyu and Richard Hachiro are out for Chicken Inn due to suspension. Muza was on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture.
His absence on Sunday might give Bosso the edge considering he is also the club’s leading scorer with 10 goals.
His replacement, Clive Augusto, has not been sharp since returning to the Gamecocks.
Augusto is yet to make a mark in Chicken Inn’s colours since his return.
Highlanders are coming from a painful 2-3 loss to FC Platinum.
They will be desperate to console their fans for last weekend’s loss by beating the Gamecocks.
Bosso are vying for a top four finish, and a win will breathe life into their campaign.
