Gamecocks redeem lost pride

CHICKEN Inn ended their six-game winless streak with a 4-0 win against ZPC Kariba.

Michael Charamba started the scoring with a thunderbolt in the 20th minute, followed by a Malvin Hwata goal nine minutes later.

Itai Mabunu made it three in the second- half with a header from a Charamba cross, and Brighton Ncube sealed the victory with a half-volley in the dying moments of the game.

ZPC Kariba had their chances early on with Raphael Manuvire and Leeroy Murape both denied a goal by Chicken Inn’s defence.

It was a tie that Luke Masomere’s mentored ZPC Kariba could have gone into the driving seat after Manuvire watched in disbelief when his effort was parried over the bar by an alert Donovan Bernard in the opening minute.

Two minutes later, Murape was left cursing his football Gods when his goal-bound effort was cleared from the line by Chicken Inn defender, Neilson Ketala.
