CHICKEN Inn coach, Prince Matore, says they will fight for everything – the League and the Cup in the final phase of the season.
The Gamecocks will be facing Cranborne Bullets on Saturday at Luveve.
They have managed to win three games in their last five encounters.
In the last match, they won 1-0 against Simba Bhora and lie fifth with 31 points from 19 matches.
“There is no easy team in the second half of the season as the battle for survival will be getting intense with each game,” he said.
“That means everyone will be fighting for all the points available.
“If you look at a team like Cranborne, it is a tricky team and they will always be up there to play and get something. So we are required to work extra hard and get the required result for ourselves.”
Matore said, at least, a top four will be fine for them come the end of the season and they were still fancying their chances in the Chibuku Super Cup.
“As a club, we are looking to finish in the top four at the end of the season. We have to chase the pack and stay in check with the leading teams.
“We have to collect points that are going to help us.
“We want to have a strong finish and make sure we don’t slip out of the top four.
“We made only two additions to our squad during the break.
“It’s difficult to bring all the players you want during the mid-season break as normally clubs don’t want to release their best players during the mid-season break.
“But, overall, we have a big squad that is able to compete and can bring results but I believe as a team we have to keep on working extra hard.
“If we manage to work hard I am certain we will do well.
“Football is not easy as everyone will be looking to get results so as a team we have to really work extra hard to be consistent.
“We are going to fight for everything, which is the league and the cup.”
