POLICE in Bulawayo have arrested Lovemore Pangiso (61) for cultivating dagga at his home.

Detectives from the CID Drugs and Narcotics unit received a tip-off about Pangiso’s illegal activities. Police carried out searches at his residence on 11 September and discovered 19 sachets of loose dagga hidden between his mattress and bed base. Six well-nurtured dagga plants, each measuring 20 centimetres, were found growing in his garden.

Bulawayo deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Thandekile Ndlovu warned the public against dealing in illegal substances. “Police warns members of the public to desist from dealing in dangerous drugs as they will face the law,” she said. She also thanked the community for providing information that led to the arrest.

Pangiso is now in custody as investigations continue.
