HIBERNIAN have bolstered their defensive options by signing Zimbabwe international Munashe Garananga on loan from Danish giants FC Copenhagen.

The defender joins Tawanda Maswanhise in the Scottish Premiership for the remainder of the season.

Garananga, a key defender for the Warriors, arrives after struggling to get a regular place in Denmark, where his team was also playing in the UEFA Champions League.

“This is a new and exciting challenge for me,” Garananga was quoted in the club’s announcement.

“I have heard great things about the league and the club, and I am ready to work hard and help the team.”

Hibernian confirmed the signing on their official social media channels.

“We are delighted to confirm the loan signing of Zimbabwean international Munashe Garananga, from Danish Superliga holders FC Copenhagen.”

Garananga began his European career with Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol before his move to Copenhagen last summer.
