A GARDENER who molested his employer’s five-year-old daughter in a garage has been jailed for six months.  Ratidzo Chingarava (21) appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Tendai Mahwe and was convicted on overwhelming evidence. Mr Mahwe sentenced Chingarava to 12 months imprisonment before six were suspended on condition he does not commit a similar offence in the next five years. In passing sentence, Mr Mahwe said Chingarava’s moral blameworthiness was high and he deserved a custodial sentence.

Prosecutor Ms Molyn Mutamangira proved that last month the little girl approached Chingarava who was at the garage at their home.
Chingarava took the girl and molested her. He let the child go into the house before he went away.

On August 15 and at around 8pm, the girl narrated her ordeal to her mother who alerted the father who reported the case to the police leading to Chingarava’s arrest.
