Gardener relieves self on maid in fight

accusing her of spreading rumours to their employer, a Zvishavane magistrate heard yesterday.

Brighton Phiri Makawa (34) had reportedly earlier on relieved himself in the open in the yard so as to provoke the complainant who was supposed to clean the yard.

Makawa pleaded guilty to assault and indecent exposure when he appeared before Gweru magistrate, Mr Story Rushambwa.

He was remanded on his own cognisance to 4 January for sentence.

For the State, Mr Stanley Ncube told the court that Makawa, who is employed as a gardener at P Hall Bus Company director’s house, had a standing grudge with his fellow workmate, Miss Sandra Shumba, whom he was accusing of spreading rumours to their employer, a Mrs P Hall.

Mr Ncube said on 18 December 2012, Makawa went on to relieve himself in the open on the lawn within the yard.

The court heard that this did not go down well with Miss Shumba who was supposed to clean up the yard and she confronted Makawa ordering him to remove his stool.

Mr Ncube said instead of removing the stool Makawa went on to spread it all over the lawn.

The court heard that Miss Shumba then went and reported the matter to their employer, who in turn ordered Makawa to clean up his mess.

The court heard that Makawa later went on to assault Miss Shumba by tripping her and when she was on the ground he urinated and relieved himself on top of her.

Miss Shumba went and reported the matter to the police leading to Makawa’s arrest.
