Sungura musician Romeo Gasa is on the verge of making peace with his recording company Diamond Studios. Gasa had come guns blazing against the recording studio accusing them of breaching their contract after they confiscated the flat and a Mercedes Benz they had given him.
“I was chucked out of the flat that Diamond Studios had given me. The boss just told me that they were selling the flat and I was relocated to Marlborough where I have to cater for my own rentals,” he said.
He had signed a five-year contract where Diamond Studios takes 40percent of his income from shows. In return, the stable initially gave him a car, which they later confiscated. Yesterday the musician said he was on a verge of liaising with the recording company.
“I have realised that people who were my managers misled me on the issue. Things were supposed to be solved amicably,” said Gasa.
He added that he would go and converge a meeting with Diamond Studio boss Steady Munyanyi and map a way forward. He has hired the services of Francis Motsi to be his new manager.
“Under the new management we are going to have a meeting with Diamond Studios so that we can map a way forward,” said Gasa.
Munyanyi confirmed the development saying they were ready to map a way forward with the musician. “We met on Tuesday and we agreed to converge a meeting with him to make a way for the young musician,” said Munyanyi.
The diamond boss said they have started working on the accommodation and another car for the musician. “Though we have not yet sat down but realising the talent invested in the young musician we have decided to make another plan on his accommodation and car,” he said. Gasa has four albums namely “Simbi Hombe”, “Sungura Kompressor”, “Mufaro Kwamuri” and “Pin Code”.
