GAZA Gunners hope to put behind the recent in-house problems behind them as they go out in search of maximum points against Eastern Region Division One league log leaders Buffalo Junior tomorrow.
The club has been rocked by problems stemming from their weak financial position but it appears normalcy is slowly returning to their camp.
Gunners coach Isaac Nyabvure said they were ready to tackle their opponents come tomorrow and a win will boost his side’s confidence.
“It’s a tough encounter but probably we are going to win. So far morale in camp has been very low because of some problems but we had a meeting with the executive so we ironed out our differences.
“So we hope it’s going to help us.
“We had financial problems.
“This year we had a bad start but we will bounce back because we have a capable team,” said Nyabvure.
Buffalo, however, will be looking to continue with their fine run after shooting on to the top of the table last week when they beat Tenax 2-1.
For a team that was promoted this year into the top division, Buffalo Juniors are doing quite well in a competition where clubs such as Masvingo United are struggling to win matches.
Yuna Yuna are bottom of the league with no points after losing all their matches and will be hoping for better fortunes when they meet Mwenezana this afternoon at Mucheke.
However, all eyes will be on Buffalo Junior against Gaza Gunners tomorrow.
Buffalo Junior coach, Shadreck Mugurasave, said they are not banking too much on their position on the log. “It’s too early to say we are log leaders. We are preparing for the game as usual, since we are building from the Second Division and I think we are doing well.
“The team is made up of seniors and juniors.
“We are expecting to get three points but we leave everything in the hands of God. I would want us to improve. So far we are doing well, there are no complains from the executive to the last person in the team. We are away from home so if we cannot get three points we expect at least one point, we cannot afford to lose,” said Mugurasave.
In another match that is likely to draw some attention, second placed Eastern Stars have a date against Tenax today.
The Eastern Stars are currently tied on points with the log leaders separated by goal difference.
