Gender meeting in Maputo

are to discuss problems of southern African women and seek empowerment, Mozambican National Director of Women Josefa Langa said on Tuesday.  Langa told reporters in Maputo that the Sadc wants to have a common action against gender discrimination.

“There is discrimination against women and girls in schools and public institutions. We want to combat this,” she noted.

The official called on  society as a whole to take part in the struggle to ensure women are equal with men. – Xinhua.
