German experts head for Zim

ZimTrade has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a German organisation, Senior Experten Services (SES), which will see local companies receiving technical expertise to improve their production efficiencies and competitiveness. SES has 12 000 experts and executives from 50 industries and 500 professions and will be in the country for the next four to six weeks.

ZimTrade official, Mrs Jacqueline Nyathi, said the experts were expected in the country soon and the German government covered their travel expenses.

“ZimTrade signed a MoU with SES of Germany, an organisation that provides technical expertise to companies in developing and emerging countries, so as to help them improve their production efficiencies and competitiveness,” she said.

“The main beneficiaries of the SES network’s expertise are small and medium-sized businesses, public authorities, professional and business associations, social and medical facilities, and institutions, which provide basic education or vocational training.
The organisation has over 12 000 experts and executives from 50 industries and 500 professions and has completed more than 40 000 assignments in 160 different countries since it was established in 1983. SES missions are for a period of between four and six weeks.”

Mrs Nyathi urged companies to take advantage of the MoU to improve their technical expertise in their respective lines of production and become competitive on the international market.

“The German government covers the travel expenses of the experts coming to Zimbabwe and companies cover the local expenses, which include accommodation, meals and travel within Zimbabwe for the duration of the mission,” she said.

ZimTrade, the national trade development and promotion organisation, is a unique joint venture partnership between the private sector and the Government of Zimbabwe, which was established in 1991.
