Dancehall chanter Mc Ghetto Junior, has made a collaboration with two top South African kwaito artistes “DJ Webster and Emza”. Ghetto Junior, real name Samkelo Lunga, said the track is set to be released soon.
He said the track is meant to spread love amongst various people thereby it was done in Zulu, English and Shona languages.
“I have done a single with Emza and DJ Webster and the song is titled “If you love”.
“We recorded the track in three languages namely Shona, Zulu and English.
“Our main goal was to spread the word of love amongst African people especially Zimbabweans and South Africans. The track is a fusion of house and reggae genres and I think it is the first of its kind.”
Ghetto Junior said he is currently holding live shows across the Limpopo particularly in Durban and Pretoria alongside DJ Webster of Durban Finest which is run by SVS International.
The artiste recently performed at Eland Bar and Nightclub in Beitbridge with some established DJs who include DJ Clemza and Tony E.
The Gweru born musician says music has always been his way of life. “Way back in the days I was a house party DJ and doing it for fun but later discovered it’s my destiny. My first ever stepping stone was Red Fox Hotel the popular reggae dancehall joint in Harare where I started of as a club DJ which was a great opportunity for me because I managed to realize what I was really capable of doing through my God given talent,” he said.
Ghetto Junior has had the privilege of playing alongside, Black Supremacy, Judgment Yard, Legendary Sound, Mad House Crew,Mic Inity, Hotta Fire (band) and host welcome parties for international artists including Popcaan, Mavado,Tonny Rebel,Capleton and Turbilance as an MC. He says all that experience gave him confidence to start making himself a brand to be reckoned with.
Ghetto said 2015 also marks the addition of a band to his live acts along with an exciting strategic plan with the likes of clothing guru “Terrie GUNZ” of Harare Hustler Street Wear.
“This year you can also expect to a house mixtape consisting of about 9 or 10 house songs, two reggae dancehall albums and videos,” he said.
