HARARE giants Dynamos and Caps United have lined up friendly matches this afternoon to polish their combinations ahead of the demanding second half of the season. The Castle Lager Premiership programme is on a break and Caps United will use the opportunity to test some of their fringe players and new signings when they face Whawha at Baghdad this afternoon.
Champions Dynamos will also be on the road looking to work on their game against Chapungu at Ascot this afternoon.
The Glamour Boys have beefed up their side during the mid-season window after signing Rodreck Mutuma, Richard Kawondera and Takesure Chinyama, who recently got clearance to play for the Harare giants.
While Kawondera and Mutuma were in action last week when DeMbare drew 0-0 with Hwange, Chinyama was unable to start because of the paperwork.
He is likely to make his return next week in the blockbuster clash with Highlanders at Barbourfields.
CAPS United successfully brought back former Warriors skipper Method Mwanjali and might unleash him at Baghdad this afternoon.
Mwanjali this week returned to CAPS United after spending nearly six seasons in the South African Premiership where he featured mainly for Mamelodi Sundowns.
But after Sundowns terminated the defender’s contract, the player opted to return home where he has reunited with the Green Machine who are now under the guidance of Mark Mathe.
CAPS United team manager Shakespeare Chinogwenya said they will travel to Kwekwe early today and then play the match before returning to their base on the same day.
“There are a number of players that the technical team needs to look at and this is why we are playing this game.
“The game will be used to assess those players who had been failing to get game time but more importantly we want to reach out to our supporters in Kwekwe.
“As you aware there is no Premiership football that has been coming to Kwekwe and we think this a chance for the residents to watch top teams in action,” said Chinogwenya.
CAPS United will use the tie against struggling Whawha to prepare for their next league assignment against Harare City. — Sports Reporter/Sportszone.
