AN Alaska High schoolgirl, who wrote 10 subjects at O-Level while she was in Form 2 last year, emerged with four As, five Bs and a C.
Anashe Masango, 14, is now appealing for financial assistance to enrol for Lower Six, saying her parents are struggling to raise money for fees.
My parents are struggling to raise money for me to proceed to A-Levels and I am appealing for assistance. I promise I will not disappoint,” she said.
She told H-Metro that fears of another wave of Covid-19 and encouragement from one of her teachers pushed her to register for O-Level exams.
“One of my teachers, who was helping me with extra lessons, encouraged me to sit for O-Level exams while doing Form 2.
“I moved from one place to another during lockdown, and I shared that with my teacher. She encouraged me to complete the syllabus, saying one of her children managed to sit for the same level and passed.
“Covid-19 affected schooling and I needed a way of dealing with it, just in case there was another wave and further lockdowns,” said Anashe.
“Tinodawo kuita zvechikoro pfungwa dzichiri nhete dzisati dzakomba uye dzichirikugona kugamuchira zivo,” she said.
Anashe did her primary education at Vainona Primary School and came out with English 1, Mathematics 1, Shona 2, Agriculture 1, and General Paper 1 in her Grade 7 exams before enrolling for Form 1 at Chinhoyi High School in 2021.
She moved to Tried and Tested Academy the same year before finally settling at Alaska High School.
